A cluster report is exceedingly helpful in diagnosing issues without unnecessary back and forth asking for information. It tends to err on the side of verbosity so the report can be quite large (in the order of GBs).
Generating the report
To generate a report, simply run (https://docs.memsql.com/docs/report)
And you should see an output similar to:
The text output would be something like:
2016-07-28 18:07:58: J0ec9b5 [INFO] Successfully built a combined diagnostic report for all agents
Your diagnostic report is available at /ebs/ops/data/cache/cluster-report-20160728T180750.tar.gz
You may also download it at http://126.96.36.199:9000/files/F66f8329271e745428cd7203813e9aa15/cluster-report-20160728T180750.tar.gz
Finding the report
In our case, /ebs/ is where we install ops, so it may be different depending on the particular installation setup of the machine. In either case, the output of the report command should indicate the location of the report itself.
Getting the Report to MemSQL Support
The reports can be attached to a support request submitted through the regular means; however, there are size restrictions that limit how large a file sent over email or uploaded to zendesk can be, and cluster reports can be very large.
Many organizations have preferred methods of transferring large files that comply with their internal requirements (OneDrive, Box, Google Drive, self-hosting, etc.) if there is a preferred way to transfer large documents that complies with the org requirements, we will work with you to acquire it with the information provided.
If the organization does not have a preferred method of transferring such files, you can contact memsql support and we will generate credentials for you to upload the files to us directly.
